Beating Hurricane Sandy. South Quaker Hill Rd. is a category 3 climb. Will have to try Blackberry or Kirby Hill Rds next. Grey windy day, temps in mid-50s.

Passed 2000 miles for the year!

Late afternoon ride, grey but warmish fall day. Now I know that from the village to top of Mt. Tom Rd. is a category 4 climb. I'd like to find a 3 around here, maybe Quaker Hill.

1st ride using Map My Ride with new Droid phone -- awesome. "c" means category, so "6c5" means 6 category 5 climbs on this route according to MMR.com. Beautiful fall day. Good lunch break at Babette's Kitchen in Millbrook NY except for the unsmiling service.

I messed up and did the Map My Ride in two pieces:

Beautiful cool fall day ride, with Dr. Simon. Thanks to Jeremy for lending the bike. A fine lunch at J. Gifford's in Kent.

Mid-afternoon local ride on a grey cool fall day. Few raindrops in the last 1/2 mile. Legs covered, sure sign summer's over.

Perfect Indian summer afternoon ride (took 1/2 day off). Stopped for lunch at Rusty Tomato Snack Bar in Millbrook, fine bowl of chili. Didn't actually think this ride would be 50 miles, but it was. Gorgeous scenery, said hello to many horses, sheep, ponies, goats, and an alpaca.
