Google Maps doesn't indicate that ~3 miles of Berkshire Road is dirt and goes through the middle of nowhere (woods, a shooting preserve, no houses, longest black snake I've ever seen in the wild in the middle of the road). But it was smooth and well packed. Not sure I'd go that way again but it was interesting. Sun peeked through the clouds some, cool but not cold (didn't need tights etc.). 2/3 of the way to 1000 mile goal.
