Just about a perfect day for winter biking. About 39F, gorgeous sunny day, breeze but no real headwind. Hardly any cars out so had the roads pretty much to myself. Powered up the last Harmony Hill-Mt. Tom climb in 3rd gear, that may be a first. Did succumb to the siren song of a Little Red Bake Shop canolli for later on. Met my mini-target of 200 miles by end of Feb. If only I didn't have to work, it could be 300 :-)

2/18/12, Patterson-Whaley Lake, 14.4mi, 2LFC, C195.9, 19.6%
Grey cool day but perfect winter biking weather. Didn't get cold, felt strong on the hills (didn't hit first gear all ride). Temp in low 40s.

2/11/12, Wingdale-Sherman, 27.5mi, 2LFC, C181.5, 18.2%
Cold grey day (about 35F), but very good ride. Was going to go short but the road was inviting so kept going into CT.

2/5/12, Quaker Hill loop, 17.4mi, 2LFC, C154.0, 15.4%
COLD ride on the downhills (35F), but beautiful sunny day. Used the shoe covers for the first time, they definitely make a difference. Tough climbs unlike yesterday when I sailed up one of the same hills (well "sailed" is an exaggeration).

About 40F. Good ride. Almost cramped up starting the climb up Harmony Hill Rd., got to watch that.
