4/30/12, Millbrook-Dover Plains, 45.6mi, 3LFC, 1SFC, C635.6, 64%

Don't go on Brush Hill Rd. from Chestnut Ridge Rd. unless you really like SFCs. I realized when I was going up it that I had come down that hill once on my way back from Millbrook and thought "don't ever come up this way!" But I did make it up. Nice break at 'Babette's Kitchen' in Millbrook.

4/29/12, Wingdale and back, 19.1mi, 1LFC, 590mi, 59%

Started out to do just a shorty but it was so beautiful out (if cold) that I kept going.

4/28/12, Mostly valley but some Quaker Hill, 22.6mi, 1.5LFC, C570.9, 57%

Waited til kinda late afternoon but finally did get out and it was perfect biking weather if a bit on the cool side (mid 50s). Took it a little easy and it was all positive.

4/27/12, Down in the valley, 19.4mi, 1LFC, C548.3, 55%

Windy, sunny, colder than yesterday - mid 40sF. Shorter, flatter ride as a 'rest', will do a longer one tomorrow if possible.

4/26/12, Bull's Bridge-Patterson, 39.4mi, 2.5LFC, C528.9, 53%

Managed not to get rained on - kind of cold (low 50s) and grey, many negative thoughts about pretty much everything while riding, not sure why. A cherry nut scone at Little Red Bakeshop on the way back helped. Passed the 50% towards 1000 miles mark.

4/22/12, Rainbeater, 19.4mi, 1LFC, C489.5, 49%

Kept a tight loop so I could get home quickly if it rained, which it started to do (just drops so far) on the climb back up Harmony Hill. At least 25F colder than yesterday and grey, had to get the winter biking gear back on. One more ride and will be halfway to my 2012 goal.

4/21/12, Patterson-Quaker Hill, 21.7mi, 2.5LFC, C470.1, 47%

Beautiful spring day, birds singing everywhere. Not much time so stayed closed to home. Felt strong.

4/15/12, Shorty but plenty of climbing, 14.7mi, 1.5LFC, C448.4, 44.8%

Title says it. Legs still tired after yesterday's marathon, but able to get up all the hills anyway.

4/14/12, Kent-Sherman-Southeast, 49.2mi, 4.5LFC, 1SFC, C433.7, 43.3%

OK, that was kind of a longer ride than I intended. I was wondering why my legs got so tired on the last Putnam Diner-Rte 164-Cornwall Hill Rd.-Harmony Rd.-Harmony Hill Rd. stretch. But it was such a perfect riding day, spring weather, not too much headwind, flowering trees and whatnot everywhere. Probably should've taken a break at some point, but didn't.

4/8/12, Bed-Stuy-Coney Island, 22.2mi, 0LFC, C384.5, 38.5%

Perfect spring day in Brooklyn. Tasty stops at Dough for amazing doughnuts, and Maya's Tacqueria for very good tacos. No hills except a slight rise in Prospect Park where my nephew sprinted away from my attempt to keep up. Slow and steady... or something. Great to spend time in Brooklyn again where I really haven't been in 20 years except for a few work visits. Click for map (Google Maps still doesn't allow embedding of bike maps... why is that?)

4/7/12, Patterson-Quaker Hill-Wingdale, 32.4mi, 3LFC, C362.3, 36.2%

Beautiful spring day, temps mid-upper 50s, headwinds most of the ride but felt good anyway, nice to have the boost when I at last turned south again on West Dover Rd.
