5/28/12, Chestnut Ridge-Dover, 43.4mi, 3LFC, C877.2, 88%

Got going early enough to beat most of the heat -- misty and cooler at 9:30am, and in the shade much of the time after except for the last 12 miles or so - hot (upper 80s). Clove Valley and Chestnut Ridge area quite beautiful. Took some time to watch the Ten Mile River flow by from the bridge at Lime Kiln Road. Weight down to 190.8 after, lowest in at least 10 years.

5/26/12, Sherman/Webutuck, 34.5mi, 2.5LFC, C833.8, 83%

Grey, warm late afternoon. Everywhere smelled like spring. Ride felt good, took it a little easy on the knees but plenty of climbing.

5/20/12, Bog Hollow, 46.7mi, 1.75LFC, C799.3, 80%

Perfect beautiful spring day, verging on hot in the afternoon. Went on CT Rte 341 west of Kent for the first time, very nice ride (becomes Bog Hollow Rd. in NY State).

5/12/12, Quaker Hill, 17.5mi, 2LFC, C752.6, 75%

Perfect and (at last) warm beautiful spring day. Not much time so relatively short ride but plenty of climbing. Felt stronger as I went and did Harmony Hill/Mt. Tom in 3rd gear after puffing a bit on S. Quaker Hill Rd.

5/6/12, Millerton, 68.0mi, 1LFC, C735.1, 74%

Something like 5 hours of riding. Did the Harlem Valley Rail Trail both ways the last bit to Millerton. Nice ride up along Old Rte 22, Lime Kiln, Poplar Hill Rd., Sinpatch, then Old Rte 22 through Wassaic which feels a lot like Vermont. Took the 'easy' way out and went 'new' 22 all the way back to Pawling, there wasn't too much traffic so it wasn't too bad. Left leg was bit sore so didn't want to strain it on the hills (and still had Harmony Hill/Mt. Tom on the way back). Good lunch at Irving Farm Coffee Co. in Millerton. As usual I probably didn't take long enough, or enough, breaks. Click for route

5/5/12, Berkshire Road, 31.5mi, 1.5LFC, C667.1, 67%

Google Maps doesn't indicate that ~3 miles of Berkshire Road is dirt and goes through the middle of nowhere (woods, a shooting preserve, no houses, longest black snake I've ever seen in the wild in the middle of the road). But it was smooth and well packed. Not sure I'd go that way again but it was interesting. Sun peeked through the clouds some, cool but not cold (didn't need tights etc.). 2/3 of the way to 1000 mile goal.
