Exceedingly beautiful later afternoon ride in perfect weather. Stopped for snack at American Pie Co. in Sherman.

Map My Ride doesn't say the specifics of the Kirby Hill Rd. climb (which I can BARELY do) but according to http://nycc.org/message-board/hill-grade-questions/39398?page=1, it's a ***14.8%*** grade in the hellish part. Interestingly, after that I went through Sherman (including a stop at American Pie Co. of course), and noticed that a hill I usually climb up the other way had a "9%" grade sign going north for the downhill. It's certainly a climb but quite doable, if it's really 9%.
