Do not believe Google Maps when it says that North Kent #1 Road, off Skiff Mountain Road, is a road. It's a dirt jeep track at best ("Not Maintained in Winter") that goes really steeply down the east side of Skiff Mtn. Two miles of tightly gripping both brakes with one foot out of the clips to keep me from falling into the ruts and rocks. Might be more fun on a mountain bike. Today's ride also featured a flat (first in months) off Schagticoke Road in the most mosquito-infested section.
